Where are you getting this error? It means, either name resolution issue or networking issue. Can you ping the server using NetBIOS and FQDN name? Also, pate the IPCONIFG/ALL from your windows 7 here. Hi, Is the machine in a domain or a Workgroup? If the machine is in a domain, please temporarily disable any logon or startup script at Server side. If the machine is not in a domain, please try the following steps. 1. Temporarily disable any network drive. 2. Start the machine in Safe Mode. Does the error message persist in this mode? If not, please restart the machine and perform a Clean Boot to check the result. 3. Assure the following services are started: Computer Browser, Server, Workstation 4. Assign a static IP address and DNS address for a test. 5. Modify relevant settings on Windows 7 machine. a. Click Start and open Control Panel. b. Open "Network and Sharing Center" and click "Advanced sharing settings". c. Expand the current network profile (such as "Home or Work"), and then select the following options: "Turn on Network Discovery", "Turn on file and printer sharing", "Turn on sharing so anyone with network access can read and write files in the Public folders", "Turn off password protected sharing" Hope this helps.
